Icelandic start-up airline Play has expanded its transatlantic services with the launch of flights from London Stansted to Boston via Reykjavik.
Play launched the new flights on Wednesday (11 May) with the Stansted-Boston route operating four times per week. Total journey time is around 11 hours including the stop in the Icelandic capital.
The airline is already flying from Stansted to Baltimore/Washington International airport after starting services in April as part of its transatlantic plans.
Play said that it had carried 37,000 passengers in April with a load factor of 72 per cent.
Birgir Jonsson, Play’s CEO, said: “Expanding our flights to Boston today will support European travellers looking for budget-friendly access to the northeast states.”
