NEWQUAY AIRPORT has introduced a ”5 fee for departing passengers as it attempts to raise capital for ”2.8 million worth of improvements.
Initial gremlins meant machines collecting the tax did not work properly but managers were hopeful they would function normally by the weekend.
However, principal flyer at the airport, Ryanair, says the decision to introduce the tax is unfair and has dropped 12 flights from the airport for the winter to leave just daily services to Stansted.
However, Monarch Airlines has started thrice weekly flights to Malaga.
