AIRPORT COUNCIL INTERNATIONAL (ACI) has released global passenger figures for September 2004 over September 2003 which show that passenger numbers rose overall 7% from the previous September, as traffic continued to recover in all regions. According to data from a sample of over 100 major airports, which representing 60% of total global passenger traffic, in September, passengers rose 7.4% with international passengers up nearly 9%. Latin America/Caribbean, Middle East and Africa led with 15.9%, 12.6% and 11.6% increases respectively.
