OZJET, the Australian all business class scheduled airline and brainchild of former Manardi F1 owner Paul Stoddart (and still current chairman of European Aviation Air Charter based at Bournemouth), has closed down. "The experience has been very costly to me personally, but my thoughts are more for those who have worked so tirelessly only to find that, as hard as we have tried, ultimately scheduled services were not successful," he said. "Unfortunately, for whatever reasons, we have not had the support we needed to operate in that environment against big, established carriers.” OzJet will retain its Air Operator's Certificate, and a minimum of two Boeing 737 aircraft for charter work and about 30% of its staff.
