Hoplamazian lands top Hyatt job
Mark Hoplamazian has been confirmed as Global Hyatt Corporation's president and ceo.
Mr Hoplamazian, 43, had been previously the hotel chain's interim president since July this year.
Before joining Hyatt, he worked as president of The Pritzker Organization managing the company's merchant banking and investment activities.
The chairman of Hyatt, Mr Thomas Pritzker said Mr Hoplamazian had been working as an advisor to Hyatt for many years.
HRG Events strengthens sales team
HRG Events and Meetings Management has appointed Alexandre Fricker as its new sales manager for Switzerland.
The travel management company said the appointment reflected the growing demand for professional event management.
Mr Fricker, 41, has worked in the MICE industry for much of his career, including seven years with Swiss Touring and, most recently, as director of sales and marketing for the Hotel Allegro and Kursaal in Bern.
He will report to Marc Fischer, HRG's head of events and meetings management in Switzerland.
Hilton creates new role for Hazelton
Hilton Hotels Corporation has created a new post of vp development, relationships and funding for Europe for Jan Hazelton.
Ms Hazelton joins the hotel group from New York where she worked for Calyon (a bank formed by the merger of Crédit Agricole Indosuez and Crédit Lyonnais) as senior relationship manager/director lodging group.
She will work with Hilton's European development team on the expansion of Hilton brands like Doubletree, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn in Europe.
CSA brings in new marketing vp
CSA Czech Airlines has appointed Petr Pištelák as its new vp for marketing and product development.
Mr Pištelák, 36, joins from PPF Financial Group in China where he was head of marketing, product and communication.
He previously worked for eBanka for three years and before that for Procter and Gamble where he worked for ten years' in sales and marketing.
His new role puts him in charge of the airline's merged marketing and product development units.
New board member for Radius
Radius Travel, a global network of travel management companies, has announced new members elected to its board at its annual meeting in Budapest last month.
The new appointments are Egil Riisnes, COP VIA, VIA Travel Group (Norway); Andrew Ross, ceo, Travelforce, CT Partners RADIUS (Australia); Michael Steiner, executive vp, Ovation Travel Group (United States) and Jeronimo Vaqueiro, vp, Tropical Tours (Bolivia).
JJ Singh, general manager; Weco Travel Poland (Poland) was re-elected to the Board.
They join existing Board members: Guy Bernacchi, president, Best Travel (United States); Tony Hughes, president and ceo, Radius; Brian Robertson, chief operating officer, Vision 2000 Travel Group (Canada); Hanna Sawalha, managing director, Nebo Tours (Jordan); Bill Tech, president and ceo, Travel and Transport (United States); and Mauricio Ventura, general manager, Agencia de Viajes Intertur S.A. (Costa Rica).
Mr Tech was elected chairman by his fellow board members, Mr Robertson vice chairman, Mr Singh secretary and Ms Sawalha treasurer.
Neumann confirmed as chair of Avis Germany
Wolfgang Neumann has been confirmed as the new chairman of Avis Germany after holding the post on an interim basis since May.
Mr Neumann previously worked for the car company as director of finance and IT.
