BOEING has officially launched the 7E(environmental)7. Assuming it does not change they have even got the name right, the Seattle company (or is it Chicago) just about admitting that last time they were wrong with the ”New Generation” 737, virtually a brand new aircraft, which should have been called the 787 (or something). And for the first time for at least three decades the world now has three major new transport aircraft to consider, the 7E7, Airbus A380 and Airbus A400 (which is admittedly, at first at least, a military machine). Japan”s ANA is the lead customer for the 7E7 (just as it was with the Lockheed Tristar) with the first flight due in 2007 and deliveries from 2008.
