Ocean Sky Aviation, the fast expanding London-based executive aircraft operator, has acquired Northern Executive Aviation (NEA), one of the UK”s longest established business jet charter companies.
Ocean Sky Aviation CEO, Kurosh Tehranchian, said: ”I am absolutely delighted to announce the purchase of NEA. This will now make Ocean Sky a fully integrated aviation company with an incredible facility at Manchester Airport that includes two hangars for maintenance and parking.
”We are also the second largest Bombardier service agents in the UK, and have the capability of maintaining and repairing any make of private jets up to a Bombardier Global Express.”
The Manchester company, Tehranchian added, is a Bombardier-authorised maintenance centre. It includes an exclusive facility at Manchester Airport for private jets, with its own VIP terminal.
”This will be fully refurbished to coincide with the renaming of NEA to Ocean Sky Maintenance and Engineering,” he said. ”Ocean Sky will use this base as a springboard for further aggressive expansion into other airports around Europe.”
Established in 2005, Ocean Sky has quickly emerged as a significant player in the executive jet market. With its own AOC (Air Operator”s Certificate) it currently flies two Bombardier 604 aircraft, in addition to the four NEA Learjets.
Due for delivery in October is a Gulfstream 450 (G4) with a Gulfstream 550 (G5) from the factory by the year”s end. A Boeing Business Jet is on order but not due till 2011.
Speaking to ABTN, Tehranchian said: ”We are delighted with the Bombardier Challengers (604/605). We are averaging1,400 hours per year now with the aircraft, [which is] a very high utilisation. Our clients are in the main, seriously rich individuals and the banks.”
A Bombardier Global Express is being added early next year. From Luton the Bombardier 600 series aircraft can fly New York non-stop, even with the maximum payload of 14 passengers.
