BRITISH JET is to fly to Cardiff from Malta this summer. In fact British Jet is not an airline, but an ATOL bonded tour operator. Nor is it British. British Jet is in fact a front for Malta Bargains Ltd, a company that has been offering holidays to Malta under the previous name of Malta Sun Holidays for the last 23 years. The aircraft used for the service are McDonnell Douglas MD90s, owned and flown by Hello of Basel, chaired by the redoubtable Moritz Suter, he of Crossair and for a short period CEO of Swissair. British Jet will this summer fly out of Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, East Midlands, Exeter, Gatwick, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and Stansted.
