NORWICH AIRPORT has a new majority shareholder following a ”11m deal. Omniport plc, the London-based investment company has successfully completed an arrangement with Norfolk County Council and Norwich City Council. Omniport will own 80.1% of Norwich Airport Ltd with 19.9 % of the equity remaining with the two councils. The purchase is complemented by a commitment by Omniport to spend a minimum of ”8.3m on capital expenditure over the next five years. The company previously had an investment in Prestwick Airport Scotland, which was sold just before Christmas.
