Low-cost carrier Norwegian’s Argentina-based subsidiary has been granted an Air Services Operator Certificate by the government of the country.
Norwegian established the subsidiary in January 2017 and was given permission to operate 153 routes from Argentina in October.
With an AOC secured, Norwegian Air Argentina is now recognised as a commercial airline, and the certificate shows it complies with safety and quality standards to carry out operations. It received its first B737-8 earlier this month, with local hero Astor Piazzolla as the tail fin hero.
Norwegian is set to launch flights from Gatwick airport to Buenos Aires from 14 February.
