Low-cost carrier Norwegian has announced it will add 150,000 seats to ‘key’ US routes from Gatwick airport this summer following increased demand.
From 25 March, the airline will add ten extra flights per week to its Los Angeles, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Oakland and Boston routes. The carrier will also launch new services to Chicago on 25 March and Austin on 27 March.
Earlier this week, Norwegian announced it was doubling its service from Gatwick to New York Stewart airport.
The routes are served by Norwegian’s new B787 Dreamliners with an extended Premium cabin featuring 60 per cent more seats than previous cabin designs.
Thomas Ramdahl, chief commercial officer of Norwegian, said: “With our US flights proving to be incredibly popular, we have chosen to increase frequency to the States... We are giving both leisure and business travellers more choice and flexibility when travelling from London Gatwick...”
