NORTHWEST AIRLINES is to suspend its services from Gatwick ” Minneapolis St Paul route from 30 October until further notice following its Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Passengers booked to fly on this route after 30 October will be re-booked with KLM via Amsterdam. Northwest Airlines services from Gatwick to Detroit are unaffected. The airline points out that UK clients booked with it are automatically ticketed on KLM documents and as such are protected should it fail completely. Passengers therefore face no financial risk when booking a Northwest Airlines flight, nor should their travel arrangements be unduly affected.
