IRAN, and its capital of Tehran can be accessed non-stop from London by both British Airways and Iran Air. What is not so well known is Mahan Air, since July 2004, has been operating a twice-weekly service from Birmingham carrying over 20,000 passengers. The route has been successful enough for the airline to establish its own ”on line” offices near Birmingham city centre and plans to introduce Manchester ” Tehran flights in November of this year. The privately owned carrier Mahan Air was established in 1991 with its mainstay Airbus A320 and A310 aircraft.
