NEWQUAY CIVIL AIRPORT, or to give it its military title, RAF St Mawgan, could be in danger of closure after 2004 according to the Ministry of Defence strategic review announced last week. The airport, with its minimum RAF use, is currently served by Ryanair with a Boeing 737 twice daily in the summer, and British Airways, via Plymouth, four times daily with a Dash 8 turboprop from Gatwick until the end of October.
