VIRGIN ATLANTIC Airways has introduced a new modified staff uniform for both its cabin crew and ground staff. The small changes represent a restyle to the John Rocha uniform first introduced by the airline in 1999 and follows feedback from staff and tailoring changes from John Mocha, to maintain a fresh, contemporary design, while ensuring the uniform remains comfortable for staff. In true Virgin style the jackets for female cabin crew and ground staff has been cut a little closer, to skim the body and accentuate the form, while the neckline has been dropped to suggest a more relaxed bearing although still retaining a smart appearance. The airline has also replaced the ladies' blouse with a cotton shirt, which has been designed specifically with built in stretch in the fabric to allow for ease of movement. For the male staff the restyle is less obvious, with the only change being the introduction of a purple tie with a small Virgin 'VA' motif in what the airline describes as a subtle progression in a stylish way.
