BMI, is to launch new routes from Heathrow to Aberdeen, Inverness and Naples in its summer 2004 schedule, which comes into operation on 28 March. The introduction of the routes will make bmi the largest provider of domestic air services from London with eight destinations served. bmi will operate Heathrow to Aberdeen five times a day weekdays and four times a day at weekends. Full service business and economy class cabins will be offered. The introduction of the Inverness service will be a fillip to the capital of the Highlands, BA having moved its operation to Gatwick two years back. Naples becomes the latest Italian destination for bmi, joining current routes to Milan and Venice. bmi has also announced further route developments on its regional network, which serves niche markets with an all jet fleet, offering both full business and economy classes. A once daily service between Glasgow and Knock, will start on 15 March, in time for St Patrick's Day. Regional services between East Midlands Airport and Aberdeen will be launched on 26 January. The route will operate once daily Monday to Friday. A new route between the growing markets of Manchester and Norwich will also start on 26 January, operating once a day Monday to Friday.
