ARIK AIR is a new Nigerian airline seemingly well organised and the development of a successful corporate jet business. On 3 April 2006, Arik Air gained occupation of the former Nigeria Airways Limited facilities in Lagos, some three years after liquidation and major reconstruction work began immediately. In June the new airline took delivery of the two new build Bombardier CRJ900 regional jets with two former United Airlines Boeing 737-300s and three pre-used 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200 regional jets.
