KENT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, the former Manston, is beginning to secure some business after its purchase by Prestwick owner Infratil from the liquidator of Plane Station Plc. Air Atlanta, the Icelandic-owned freight carrier, used the airport to change an engine on a Boeing 747 and African International was another cargo operator to find the airport attractive, in loading two DC8 aircraft with 78 tonnes of chemicals bound for Venezuela. Clearly the new owners, experienced airport operators, will be looking to gain a scheduled operator for next summer, if not earlier.
