Following in the footsteps of Easyjet, who launched their free online check-in service in February this year, Ryanair will provide online check-in from November 1 at a cost of ”3 ($4) per flight. However, Easyjet”s arrangement means that pre checked-in passengers are called at the end. The system is not finding any favour with regular passengers.
Passengers can also request priority boarding to choose their seats ahead of the stampede, again at a cost of ”3 ($4) per flight. This service was previously available to customers travelling without checked-in luggage, but now extends to all passengers regardless of luggage.
The airline has also launched a route between Stansted and Stockholm Vasteras, beginning March 25 2007. The route has been added in response to the incoming Swedish Government”s decision to cancel the environmental flight tax proposed by the current administration.
