BURBANK AIRPORT, in the northern Los Angeles suburbs of Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena, is likely to be named Hope International (or something similar) by the end of the year in honour of the British born entertainer who recently passed on and kept his private jet at the base. The Burbank City Council is expected to endorse the change at its meeting on 18 November, the same day the Glendale City Council is scheduled to vote on it. Pasadena has yet to schedule the issue for review, officials said. However, members of all three city councils have expressed strong support for the measure, many citing Hope's frequent trips to entertain troops stationed overseas. Hopefully the idea of naming airports after comedians will not catch on. Luton renamed Morecambe could be confusing.
