STAR EUROPE is a new German charter airline, not to be confused with
the alliance (which includes Lufthansa) of similar name. It received
its AOC in a record three months and is part of the Avion Group, which
includes Air Atlanta Icelandic and Excel Airways of the UK and is
listed on the Reykjavik Stock Exchange. Avion recently acquired Star
Airlines, based at Charles de Gaulle, the second largest charter
airline in the French market. Star Europe will take off with a fleet
of three Airbus A320 aircraft, the first flights will be operated for
Germanwings.
