EUROPEAN SKYBUS, owned by Paul Stoddart formerly of Minardi (now Red Bull), has acquired five MD82 aircraft from China Southern with a view to offering them on charter. Sister company Bournemouth-based European Aviation Air Charter (EAAC), has now parked its elderly Boeing 747 fleet and will this year operate five Boeing 737-200s on a programme that includes charter operations and backing up budget carriers. The airline”s other five 737s are now all in Australia and are used on Stoddart”s all business class operation, Ozjet, between Sydney and Melbourne which commenced last November.
