MY TRAVEL, the vertically integrated tour operator (formerly Airtours), whose airlines include MyTravel Airways and MyTravel Lite, reported an unexpectedly large loss of ”911m for the financial year ended 30 September. MyTravel, which owns the Going Places agency and operates tours under the Panorama, Manos and Cresta labels, said it would return to profitability in 2005. MyTravel also announced that John Allkins was taking over as finance director - the fourth person to hold the position in two years. In the meantime rival First Choice, whose in-house airline is Air 2000, came in with full year pre-tax profits of ”87.1m, 20% up on last year.
