MUNICH AIRPORT posted the strongest growth in passenger volume in its history, with more than 26.8m passengers in 2004, a gain of 2.6m on the previous year. Meanwhile, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol cargo transport too broke all records in 2004. With the month of December recording a 13.5% increase in cargo volume, a total of 1,421,023 tonnes of cargo was achieved for the full-year 2004. This translates to an 8.8% increase or almost 115,000 tonnes more than in 2003. The increase was largely seen in the full freighter segment. The number of full-freighter flights climbed by 17.9%. Cargo volume carried on board these aircraft rose by 14%.
