MOSCOW'S other airport, Domodedovo, expects to double scheduled flights when the re-built terminal opens in May. This year the airport expects to handle 7m passengers as compared to 3.9m passengers in 2001. Serving mainly domestic and eastern destinations the airport is 30 miles from Moscow but does have a metro link. New carriers in 2002 include Air Kazakhstan Airlines and last week Armenia Airlines, who begin a single daily flight to Yereven which will be doubled in December. The main international airport remains at Sheremetjevo 20 miles from the city centre.
