MOSCOW Domodedovo airport will become the first airport in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to introduce new Biometric systems to enhance security. The modern airport, owned by the East Line Group, is becoming much more popular with airlines and passengers as the new alternative gateway into the Russian capital following a lack of investment in new facilities at Shremetyevo. The airport, which is now served by the likes of British Airways and Swiss International Air Lines, is in the process of installing fingerprint scanners for workers on an initial trial. If this test proves successful the system could be introduced for passengers by the end of the year.
