AIRBUS seem to be very adept at picking up cargo aircraft orders for the A380, Atlanta Georgia based UPS the latest client with a commitment for ten and a further ten on option. However UPS is reducing its previous order for 90 A300s to 53 of which 40 they have, the remaining 13 to be delivered by July 2006. The A380 order book now stands at 149, of which 27 are of the freighter version. UPS has not yet chosen an engine for the aircraft, the first of which is due for delivery in 2009. The Airbus A380F can carry 150 tonnes a distance of 5,600 nm. No US-based passenger airline has ordered the aircraft. In the meantime launch customer, Singapore Airlines (SIA), has unveiled its specially created logo for the aircraft which it claims captures the most outstanding feature of Airbus' double-decker aircraft, the twin row of windows. You can see the logo on the ABTN web site.
