Monarch Airlines has lost its High Court battle over the right to sell its summer 2018 runway slots, according to the BBC.
Monarch administrator KPMG raised the question last month, saying the slots could have been worth £60 million. The airline’s owner Greybull Capital pledged to help repay the CAA’s repatriation costs with any money it earned from the sale of assets.
The High Court has ruled that Monarch’s slots be placed into the regular pool for other airlines to acquire. Wizz Air and Easyjet had expressed some interest in buying the slots.
