DUBLIN has suddenly become the centre of marketing interest to and from the Middle East. With Gulf Air introducing a three times per week non-stop service to Bahrain on Friday 3 December (and offering connections to a whole host of airports in the Indian sub-continent and Asia) Aer Lingus themselves have announced their own direct flights into The Gulf. In March 2006 the airline will introduce Dublin to Dubai, once more non-stop and also three times a week. This will be the first AE long haul destination outside of the USA and is the opening step in a planned expansion of the airline”s long haul network. Airbus A330 will be used for the eight-hour sector. Aer Lingus also flies from Dublin to Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.
