MIDDLE EAST AIRLINES is to introduce new Airbus A330-200 aircraft on its non-stop Beirut - Heathrow route on 1 June, replacing smaller A310 equipment and increasing capacity by 48%. The Airbus A330 will be configured with 42 seats in Front (business) class compared with 36 on the A310 aircraft they will replace, whilst economy capacity will go up from 132 on the A310 to 208. MEA will operate a daily frequency with the new aircraft offering daylight flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from London and at night on Mondays and Fridays. From Beirut there will be night flights on Mondays and Fridays and during daylight hours on the remaining five days.
