MARINE ONE, the official helicopter of the President of the United States, is to be the Anglo/Italian EH 101. 24 of the three engined ”choppers” are to be assembled in US, after a consortium lead by Lockheed Martin won a hotly fought contract. Now in service with the Royal Navy (and the Tokyo police ” see web site) the original prototype first flew at Yeovil in 1987. Let”s hope that the losers say ”well done” and that the contract can get on its way. It does not always happen like that in the US.
