The four UK airports owned by Manchester Airports Group (MAG) all reported a strong start to 2016.
Manchester, Stansted, East Midlands and Bournemouth, which all reported record passenger numbers in 2015, continued growth in January with traffic up 9.8 per cent year-on-year.
Manchester saw passenger numbers rise 7.8 per cent helped by more capacity to destinations such as New York and new routes from airlines Iberia Express and Vueling.
Stansted grew 11.8 per cent and East Midlands saw 191,000 passengers pass through in January, an increase of 4.1 per cent.
Bournemouth airport’s 29,569 passengers took its rolling 12 month total to 715,888, which represents 8.1 per cent growth over the previous year.
