LUTON has gained another destination, this time from a somewhat surprising source.
Aer Arann, who hitherto has only serviced Irish and British destinations, is to introduce a twice daily, six times per week ATR 72 service between the north London airport and Lorient on the south coast of Brittany from 26 March 2006.
Although it has two 2000m+ runways, Lorient is poorly served with direct flights and only offers AF scheduled flights to CDG and Lyon.
This is Aer Arann”s fourth service from Luton.
The airline currently operates over 56 flights per week to and from Luton to Waterford and Galway and recently announced that it will begin flying an Isle of Man service on the 24 November 2005.
