A new railway station at Luton airport has been approved by Luton Borough Council.
The £200 million plans will see a 1.4 mile rail line built to the existing Luton Parkway station, replacing the current shuttle bus service.
Passengers currently travelling to the airport must take the 5-minute bus journey from the station.
The link is expected to be built by 2020 with journey times from London expected to be reduced down to 30 minutes.
The airport is attracting record numbers of passengers and recently hit the 15 million passenger milestone in the past 12 months for the first time in its 79-year history.
