LONDON CITY AIRPORT is now able to accept the Embraer 135 regional jet (and its executive jet Legacy sister) following JAA certification for steep approach landing operations. Embraer also say that the new EMB 170 will commence a certification programme once the aircraft is introduced into service in November. The initial customer for this capability is SWISS, which is scheduled to take delivery of its first aircraft in August 2004. Jetmagic, the Cork-based airline which currently uses a Dornier 328 on its LCY service, will shortly take delivery of an EMB 135 reducing flight time to just 75 minutes.
