FLYBE celebrated the introduction of services from Southampton to Alicante, Bergerac and Ibiza with a noisy party, more Balearics than Hampshire. The Exeter based airline now serves 12 scheduled destinations from the airport. Twelve months ago it was flying just four flights ” to Guernsey on a daily basis. The airline says that the virtual abandonment of nearby Bournemouth by Ryanair has helped in pushing Southampton up towards the one million passenger mark this year with passengers attracted from Oxford, Bath and even North London.
