LAUDA is to disappear as the name of an airline. Lauda Air owner Austrian Airlines has decided that the Lauda Air fleet is to be re-branded in its own livery and style. Created by Austria”s second world motor racing champion (Jochen Rindt was the first) in 1979 Lauda Air set new standards in terms of European airline cabin staff dress and catering. The founder backed out in 2000 and at the end of 2003 created Fly Niki as an Austrian budget carrier.
