LOT, the Polish airline, has become the latest carrier to order Boeing”s new 787 Dreamliner, the aircraft itself due to make its maiden flight in 2007. LOT, founded back in 1929, is expected to use the aircraft across its long haul fleet and introduce new destinations from Warsaw, including Los Angeles and Bangkok. Rolls-Royce has been chosen as the engine provider. With seven firm orders, this latest commitment takes the Dreamliner order book up to 263 from 22 airlines. Just like lead carrier ANA, LOT is a member of Star Alliance.
