KINGFISHER, India's second budget airline, will begin service in May, with initial service between New Delhi and Mumbai. The start-up carrier will offer 20% cheaper fares than the main carriers, but will still be priced above its chief competitor, Air Deccan ” India's inaugural low-fare airline, which started flying in 2003. Kingfisher has leased four A-320 mid-size aircraft and plans to buy ten more. The company also signed an option to buy 20 more Airbus jetliners in the next five years.
