KAZAKHSTAN is to be further linked with London by the introduction of two weekly services from Gatwick by Astraeus straight into the New Year, primarily benefiting the growing oil and gas industries. The flights start on 24 January 2006 joining Gatwick with Aktau (Tuesday) and Uralsk (Thursday). Flights will be operated by Astraeus' Boeing 757 aircraft, offering 40 Star Class premium seats ” with wider seating, 36-inch seat pitch and enhanced on-board service, plus 140 economy class seats with scheduled service, standard 32-inch seat pitch. As charter flights, the services will be operated in conjunction with TransGlobal Projects, a leading logistics provider to the energy industry with substantial experience of operations in Kazakhstan. Air Astana, the national carrier of Kazakhstan, supports the services.
