KLM ROYAL DUTCH AIRLINES, is to re-introduce a daily roundtrip service between Amsterdam and Atlanta, Georgia, at the start of the 2004/5 winter schedule on Sunday, 31stOctober. KLM will deploy Boeing 767-300ER equipment on this route. KLM suspended the service on the Atlanta route shortly after the attacks of 11 September responding to a sharp decline in traffic. Now that the economy is recovering slightly and traffic is gaining momentum, the route has become viable once more. Atlanta is the main hub of Skyteam member Delta Air Lines. By the end of the year KLM, through its relationship with Air France, is expected to also become a Skyteam member with route benefiting from hub-to-hub connections. The service will be flown in conjunction with Northwest.
