KLM looks like finally falling to Air France after a long courtship if rumours generally circulating are to be believed, with an announcement due later this week. Although some kind of relationship with British Airways is still not ruled out even at this late stage, according to Dutch sources a share swop deal is likely. How this will affect Schiphol Airport and overseas points where both airlines are represented remains to be seen, but assuming KLM keeps it identity a much reduced operation is likely to be the result in the years ahead.
