JETSTAR ASIA AIRWAYS, backed by Qantas, has become the third budget carrier, and ninth airline, to launch operations from Singapore Changi Airport this year. Initial destinations are Hong Kong (3 hours 50 minutes) and Taipei (4 hours 35 minutes) non-stop, somewhat long flight sectors than the normal low cost European operations. By January next the airline expects to have four Airbus A320 in service. New destinations are due for imminent announcement.
