JETBLUE AIRWAYS is taking aim at low fare competitor Song and its parent company Delta Air Lines by slashing fares and adding new coast-to-coast service between California and New York, Washington, DC and Boston. JetBlue is adding a second daily roundtrip service from JFK to both Ontario and San Jose, a third daily roundtrip to San Diego, a sixth daily roundtrip to Oakland, and an eighth daily roundtrip to Long Beach. From Dulles, JetBlue is introducing new daily service to San Diego, adding a third daily roundtrip to Oakland, and a fourth daily roundtrip to Long Beach. The carrier will also operate new daily service from Logan to San Jose, and is adding a third daily roundtrip to both Oakland and Long Beach. The new service begins on 3 May, with the exception of the second daily JFK ” San Jose and third daily JFK ” San Diego service which begin 17 June. In addition, JetBlue is reducing its regular one-way fares for all new service, with prices ranging from $124 to $299. JetBlue is offering a "Take 5" sale fare between California and New York, Washington and Boston which starts from $85 each way. This sale fare requires a 5-day advance purchase, and must be purchased by 4 February.
