JET AIRWAYS, India”s largest privately owned scheduled airline, looks likely to be flying into London this summer. Under the revised bi-lateral between India and the UK signed last year Jet has been allocated seven flights weekly with further services allocated to Air India, bmi, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. A third Indian airline could also be involved. However Jet Airways is now in the middle of an IPO and, under Stock Exchange regulations in India, is not allowed to communicate anything to the media until this has been completed! The airline currently serves 42 domestic points and two international (regional) points ” Kathmandu and Colombo. It operates more than 260 flights daily.
