JAPAN AIRLINES is set to apply for membership of Oneworld. On joining, within the next year to two years, JAL would extend Oneworld's network by 10% and add 68 destinations. In would also become the largest carrier in the alliance for group revenue. Formal discussions concerning technology compatibility and procedures will now take place before JAL is officially invited to join Oneworld. The only Asian carrier in Oneworld is Cathy Pacific.
