KNOCK AIRPORT, in the West of Ireland, is being served for the first time from Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Last week Aer Arann commenced a new operation using a 48-seat ATR 42 aircraft. It was also a first into Liverpool for the rapidly expanding Irish regional airline. The service, which will operate Monday to Friday, departs Knock 1900 arriving 2010. The return service leaves Liverpool John Lennon at 2035 with a flight time of one hour 10 minutes. For Aer Arann this is one of seven new UK services to be introduced by the airline for summer 2004 including Galway ” Birmingham, Derry ” Manchester and Birmingham, Waterford and Kerry to Manchester and Donegal to Glasgow Prestwick. Liverpool and Merseyside have strong traditional links with Ireland.
