INTERSKY, the Austrian low fare airline, is to expand with a second base at Friedrichshafen, Germany, from 13 October. It will offer two daily flights from Friedrichshafen to Cologne/Bonn and daily flights to Berlin Tempelhof and Vienna. A two class service will be operated by 50-seat Bombardier Dash 8/Q300 aircraft. Friedrichshafen Airport is located at Lake Constance in Southern Germany and mainly serves the German state of Baden-Wurttemberg, the Vorarlberg region of Austria with is famous ski resorts, Liechtenstein and the Eastern part of Switzerland. InterSky, is privately owned by Rolf Seewald and Renate Moser, previous investors in Rheintalflug which was sold to Austrian Airlines and merged into Tyrolean. The airline started operations on 25 March 2002 operating scheduled flights from Berne to Berlin and Vienna. In September 2002 it launched its new regional low fare strategy and doubled the numbers of passengers carried within months.
