FRENCH passport holders should be aware that, if they want to go to the United States, a full visa and all the problems associated with it (the Paris US Consulate is now not taking bookings until June) might be the only way forward. Under new rules French passports issued after 26 October must contain a digital photograph of the holder. The problem is, due to what might be politely called administrative discussions, France is not issuing any and will not until next month. So watch out if you are French and the expiry date of your passport is running down (or is out) and wish to travel to America.
