INDIA now has a budget airline. Last week Air Deccan was launched in the southern city of Bangalore. The airline, which aims to undercut other carriers' fares by 50%, has started with daily services to Hubli and Mangalore, and plans to expand quickly to 20 flights per day to destinations in the south of the country. The no frills carrier, part of helicopter charter operator Deccan Aviation, has a fleet of six ATR turboprop aircraft. http://www.airdeccan.net
